Kate Brindley was called to the Ontario bar in 2010. She holds an Honours B.A. from the University of British Columbia, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto. Kate articled at Ontario’s Crown Law Office – Criminal, where she worked on criminal cases at all levels of court, including the Supreme Court of Canada. Kate is an experienced litigator who works primarily in criminal defence. She also practices in the area of Coroner’s Inquests. She is a member of Ontario’s Criminal Lawyers’ Association, and has presented at the Thunder Bay Law Association’s and Criminal Lawyers’ Association’s continuing education programs for lawyers. Kate leads our firm’s student program. She also teaches advanced criminal advocacy at the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law. She has sat on the board of directors for different community organizations, including the Elizabeth Fry Society of Northwestern Ontario. Kate was a director of the Defence Counsel Association of Thunder Bay and has participated in numerous social justice and court committees. Kate spearheaded Thunder Bay’s women in criminal defence law initiatives and co-hosts events for lawyers and students every year.
